16th Sunday in Ordinary Time 2018

All men are invited to join us at the Community Centre each Saturday morning from 7:20 to 8:30 for breakfast and an informal discussion of a faith issue. A hearty appetite is an advantage. Come and see if you enjoy the experience. If you have any queries, ring Les on 0401 541 666.

There will be a stall in the hall at all Masses the weekend of 28/29 July, featuring Bric-a-Brac, knitting and crochet goods from Joseph’s Corner Counselling Service shop "MERRIJIG" in Yarraville. The shop raises funds to help keep the Counselling Service going. The Free Service is for Partners and Family members of people affected by addiction. If you can find something to purchase at the stall, you will be helping to keep this service continuing. There will also be a donation box at the stall for anyone wanting to make a cash donation. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Are you a young person trying to figure out life and faith? Come and join us for a fun time, real talk and light dinner. All are welcome (ages 18-29) so bring your friends! Meet us in the hall Sunday @ 6:00pm. Any questions contact Rhea on 0419 046 809.

ZIMBABWEAN CATHOLIC COMMUNITY will celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s on Sunday, 29th July at 2:00pm. All our parishioners are invited to partake in the Eucharistic Celebration and thereafter to join in the fellowship.

We welcome into our Church community Iris Oriana Nath who is to be baptised this Sunday. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of her parents, godparents, family and friends, we pray that Iris will led a life full of happiness and faith.

This is a faith outreach program aimed to teach members more about our Catholic faith with three purposes – to learn it, live it and share it. The school has been successfully running for the last 2 consecutive years in our parish and members have testified to growing both spiritually and personally. All are welcome to join. There will be a brief presentation on the HSI School at masses over the weekend August 4/5. For further information, contact Anita D’Souza on 0411 772 320 or Sharon D’Silva on 0430 099 654.

Most Reverend Denis Hart, D.D. Apostolic Administrator of Melbourne, is pleased to invite Priests, Deacons and Parishioners of the Archdiocese of Melbourne to the Liturgical Reception and Solemn Mass of the Ninth Archbishop of Melbourne, Most Reverend Peter A. Comensoli DD STL MLitt PhD. RSVP Guests https://www.trybooking.com/WXSE Note to Guests (other than clergy) This booking is for entry to the Cathedral only and is not a reserved seat.

First Friday adoration will be held on August 3rd commencing with Mass at 7:00pm followed by silent adoration, Rosary, Offices to the hearts of Jesus and Mary. We call on all parishioners to join us in this important once a month devotion and pray for our children, families and our parish community and especially those who do not have anyone to pray for.

As we say thank you to Archbishop Hart for his 17 years of leadership and his 51 years of priesthood in Melbourne, we are grateful for his priestly example of a Good Shepherd in our midst. May this example inspire many others to be 'Good Shepherds' to their brothers and sisters in priesthood and consecrated life.  Please pray for vocations from our parish community.

In one of his addresses in Broken Bay, Archbishop-Elect Comensoli reminded us that "a priestly vocation is a joint project of the individual, the faith community, and Christ" (August 2017). Let us pray for more vocations from our Local Church. May our prayers and witness inspire young men and women to serve in priesthood and consecrated life.

We pray for Bernard Moynahan, Lydia O’Sullivan, Saad Khalil, Maurice Buckley, Cristeta Garado and all who passed away recently.
