SUNDAY SCHOOL FIRST HOLY COMMUNION, SUNDAY 19TH AUGUST, 10:30AM MASS
We congratulate all the Sunday School Children receiving the Holy Eucharist for the first time this Sunday. We pray that our Lord will nourish and strengthen them throughout their faith journey.

WELCOME
We welcome into our Church community Chloe Hargreaves & Ella Hargreaves who are to be baptised this Sunday.  With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of their Parents, Godparents, family and friends, we pray that these children will lead a life full of happiness, faith and love.

ROYDEN D’SOUZA’S DEACON ORDINATION AT ST. PATRICK’S CATHEDRAL
Royden D'Souza will be ordained as Deacon on Saturday, 8th September 2018 at the 10:00am Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral. A bus service to the Cathedral has been organised by the parish at a cost of $10.00 per person (return trip). Anyone wishing to avail of this bus service must register their names along with the payment of $10.00 in the parish office ASAP as seats are limited. The bus will leave the church carpark at 8:30am sharp so please ensure you are seated in the bus by 8:15am.

ROYDEN D’SOUZA will be assisting for the first time as Deacon at the 10:30am Mass on Sunday 9th September in our church. All are invited. Please bring a plate of finger food to share at the fellowship after Mass.

PLEASE NOTE

  • There will be no First Friday Devotion on Friday, 7 September because of Our Lady’s Novena and fellowship.
  • Eugene will celebrate the 9:15am Mass on Saturday 8 September as Fr. Vincent will be attending Royden’s Diaconate Mass at the Cathedral.

HSI SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP
The 2018-19 session of the Holy Spirit Interactive (HSI) School of Discipleship has commenced and runs on Sundays at 6:15pm at our Community centre. This is a faith outreach program aimed to teach members more about our Catholic faith with three purposes – to learn it, live it and share it. All are welcome to join. ROSTERS FOR READERS AND EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS & COMMUNION TO THE SICK are ready for collection from the Hall from this weekend. Please collect your copy as soon as possible.

The next MULTICULTURAL MASS PLANNING MEETING will be held on Saturday, 1st September 2018 at 10:00 am in the meeting room off the church hall. All are welcome to attend.

NATIVITY OF OUR LADY NOVENA
The novena for the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady will start on Thursday 30 Aug until the feast day on 8 Sep. The 9th day, 7 September, will end with a shared supper.  Please bring a plate of finger food to share. We are looking for people to lead the Rosary each day of the novena.  If you would like to do so, please call the parish office on 9749 4300 as soon as possible. Thank you.

Parishioners are invited to bring along their own statues/icons of the Blessed Virgin Mary to be placed on a table at the front of the Church each day of the Novena.

 

JOSEPH’S CORNER TRIVIA NIGHT, 23 August 19
You are invited to a Soroptimist International Trivia Night on 23 Aug 18 at the Limerick Arms Hotel, 364 Clarendon St, South Melbourne from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Cost $15.
