The Grange Community Christmas Carols 17 Dec

Deacon Charles will introduce our parish of St Peters to the Grange Community in Hoppers Crossing on Saturday the 17th December where members of our Music Ministry will commence the ‘Carols by Candlelight Service’ at 7:00pm.  ALL ARE WELCOME

Venue: 260– 280 Hogan's Road, Hoppers Crossing

GATES OPEN 5.30pm EVENT 7pm - 9pm

Bring your own blanket, picnic and enjoy Christmas Carols!  Food vendors available. Special visit by Santa!

Battery operated candles will be available for sale at the event.

YOUTH GROUP

The Brothers and Sisters of the Alliance of the Two Hearts in collaboration with our parish of St. Peters are calling all youth aged 12-30 to attend FIAT, a 4-day Marian Eucharistic Youth congress from January 19 - 22, 2017 at Encore Events Centre, 80 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing. 100 years ago Our Lady appeared to 3 children in Fatima and gave them a special message that would prove to be relevant to today’s youth. Come along to a jam-packed event filled with games, workshops, talks by guest speakers, performances and of course prayer as we discover the beauty of her message. AUSTRALIAN NATIVITY SCENE AT ST ELIZABETH’S PARISH

Monday 12 December 2016 to Friday 13 January 2017

St Elizabeth’s Parish, 107 Baker Road, Dandenong North.  Local artist Wilson Fernandez has been creating stunning nativity scenes for the past 13 years. This is regarded as one of Australia’s best nativity displays and is months in the making each year. It has steadily grown into the largest of its kind in Australia. Wilson artistically creates the village and township with handmade huts, stables, buildings, bridges, palaces, houses and temples surrounded by mountains, rocks, lakes and rivers. Each week the nativity scenes change to reflect the story of the birth of Christ.

Cost: Free. Children to be accompanied by parent or guardian

Viewing times: 9.45am–6pm and after Mass

CHRISTMAS goods are now available: Nativity sets, Ornaments, etc. Columban Calendars ($9), Divine Mercy Calendars ($9) and Pocket Calendars ($8). Religious Christmas Cards ($3 pkt of 8 cards), Polish and Vietnamese ($2.50 pkt). Italian Cards have arrived: $1.50 per card.

LEGION OF MARY 2017 SUMMER SCHOOL

Saturday 11 February and Sunday 12 February 2017

Magnificat House, 456 Queensbury Street, North Melbourne.  Join the Legion of Mary for two days at the 2017 Summer School, focussing on the centenary of Our Lady of Fatima. Keynote speaker will be Bishop Columba Macbeth-Green, Bishop of Wilcannia-Forbes. Other speakers include Fr Justin Ford, Fr Brendan Arthur, Anna Krohn and John Canavan. PUBLIC LECTURE: FROM MEGA CHURCH TO CATHOLIC CHURCH

Ulf Ekman founded ‘Word of Life’, a non-denominational charismatic church in Uppsala, Sweden and was its senior pastor for 30 years before he, along with his wife Birgitta, was received into the Catholic Church in 2014. He has founded bible schools and a seminary, hosted a TV show aired in many nations, and has written more than 40 books and booklets, translated into over 30 languages. In this public lecture, Ulf will tell us why and how he and his wife took this momentous step in their journey of faith. Tea and coffee will served afterwards.
