St Peter
Apostle
|

|
At St. Peter Apostle In the Eucharist, we come together in all our diversity,
to worship and proclaim the Good News of the unconditional love of God for
all His people. Through Baptism, we are called and
gifted to live out our ministry of service where we strive to see Jesus in
all those we meet. |
Entrance Antiphon
Lord,
you are just, and the judgements you make are right.
Show
mercy when you judge me, your servant.
1st
Responsorial
Psalm
In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.

A reading from the letter
of
Gospel Acclamation
Alleluia, alleluia! Let your face shine on your servant, and teach me
your laws. Alleluia!
Gospel (Lk
14:25-33)
A reading from the
holy Gospel according to Luke.
Great
crowds accompanied Jesus on his way and he turned and
spoke to them. If any man comes to me without hating
his father,
mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes and his
own life too, he
cannot be my disciple. Anyone who does not carry his
cross and
come after me cannot be my disciple. And indeed,
which of you here,
intending to build a tower, would
not first sit down and work out the
cost to see if he had enough to complete it?
Otherwise, if he laid
the foundation and then found himself unable to
finish the work, the
onlookers would all start making fun
of him and saying, “Here is a
man who started to build and was unable to finish.”
Or again,
what king marching to war against another king would
not first sit
down and consider whether with ten thousand men he
could
stand up to the other who advanced against him with
twenty
thousand? If not, then while the
other king was still a long way off,
he would send envoys to sue for peace. So in the
same way, none
of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all
his possessions.’
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Communion Antiphon
Like a deer that longs for running streams, my soul
longs for you, my
God. My soul is thirsting for
the living God.

COMMUNITY
FAREWELL TO FR. GREG
Our Parish has become quite expert in saying Farewell to our Priests
over the years. Now it
is time to say "Farewell" and "Thank You" to our
Parish Priest, Fr Greg Bourke. We have had 7 years of Wonderful
Leadership with Fr. Greg, and he is going to be sadly missed by all
of us.
To show him how much he is loved and cared for, we will be taking
donations to
give him something special. Over the weekends of
11/12th Sept and 18/19th Sept there will be a 3rd collection at each
Mass to enable everyone who wishes to contribute to Father's Farewell
gift. Donations may be
put in an envelope marked "Fr. Greg's donation"
or loose. We will have
a farewell "do" for Father sometime closer to
the time of his leaving
us.
