St Peter
Apostle
|

|
At St. Peter Apostle In the Eucharist, we come together
in all our diversity, to worship and proclaim the Good News of the unconditional
love of God for all His people. Through Baptism,
we are called and gifted to live out our ministry of service where we strive
to see Jesus in all those we meet. |
Entrance Antiphon
My eyes are ever fixed on the Lord, for he releases
my feet from the snare.
O look at me and be
merciful, for I am wretched and alone.

Glory to you, Word of God,
Lord Jesus Christ! Repent says the Lord;
the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Glory to you, Word of God,
Lord Jesus Christ!
Gospel (Lk 13:1-9)
A
reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke
Some people arrived and
told Jesus about the Galileans whose
blood
Pilate had mingled with that of their sacrifices. At this he said
to
them, ‘Do you suppose these Galileans who suffered like that were
greater
sinners than any other Galileans? They were not, I tell you.
No; but unless you
repent you will all perish as they did. Or those
eighteen
on whom the tower at Siloam fell and killed them? Do you
suppose
that they were more guilty than all the other people living in
will
all perish as they did.’ He told this parable: ‘A man had a fig tree
planted
in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it but found
none.
He said to the man who looked after the vineyard, “Look here,
for
three years now I have been coming to look for fruit on this fig
tree
and finding none. Cut it down: why should it be taking up the
ground?”
“Sir,” the man replied “leave it one more year and give me
time
to dig round it and manure it: it may bear fruit next year; if not,
then
you can cut it down.”’
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Communion Antiphon
The sparrow even finds a home, the swallow finds a
nest wherein to
place her young, near to the altars,
Lord of hosts, my King, my God!
How happy they who dwell in your house! For ever
they are praising you.

COMMUNITY
CHURCH
IMPROVEMENTS
Our parish church has had some improvements
recently. These
include the painted blinds on the
western windows and the repair
and automation of the outside
blinds. Two automatic opening
windows at the top of the light
well have been reactivated and
a further two shall be
repaired. The Lady’s Chapel has been glazed
and is awaiting some further
art work. This will be supporting the
Biblical theme of nets and
fish.
Four tables have been purchased,
two for the sanctuary with
deep drawers for missals and lectionaries
and two for the back of the
church for the Offertory Gifts and for the
newsletters.
In the near future a new lectern will be
constructed. This will have a
sandstone base with a toughened
frosted glass top. It will be able to
accommodate our Book of the Gospels.
The Reconciliation Room will be replastered
with some further rendering.
The Altar Servers Room will also have a cupboard
for sacred vessels
and the like for easier altar
preparation.
One of the former confessionals will be renovated
and become a small
devotional prayer room with an icon
of the future St Mary of the Cross
(Bl.
Mary MacKillop).
Thank you for your generous financial support that
has made these
improvements possible.
