THE BROWN SCAPULAR OF OUR BLESSED LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL
A little bit of information on the brown Scapulars which were so kindly distributed by the Brothers and Sisters of Two Hearts at all masses last weekend.

Since the Scapular is a sign of total consecration to Mary, it should be a constant reminder to clothe ourselves with her virtues, to radiate her grace and beauty in our daily lives and to live in humble submission to God’s will.

Mary lived to serve her Divine Son. The Scapular should remind us to rise up, go in haste and be always about Our Father’s business. She still lives to serve and we ought to be with her. Our constant prayer to her should be: USE ME TODAY. And as Pius XII, the great Lover of the Scapular writes, “Certainly the most gentle Mother will not delay to open, as soon as possible, the gates of heaven for her children.”

POPE’S INTENTIONS FOR JUNE
Universal: That the aged, marginalized, and those who have no one may find – even within the huge cities of the world – opportunities for encounter and solidarity.
Evangelization: That seminarians and men and women entering religious life may have mentors who live the joy of the Gospel and prepare them wisely for their mission.

REFLECTION FOR , 13TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
“For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather serve one another through love.”             Galatians 5:13

We like to celebrate the fact that we are free to “live the good life.”  But Jesus calls us to a different kind of freedom.  St. Paul reminds us that Jesus sets us free so that we can serve one another, share our gifts and promote God’s work here on earth to glorify His name and not honor ourselves.
