PARISH NEWS

YEAR OF THE YOUTH
The new liturgical year has been marked as a national 'Year of Youth'. This year the church is called to focus on young people, and how as a church community we can further engage and include youth in the life of the church. To all young people: the Year of Youth challenges you to be brave, ask deep questions and seek to discern God's will for your life.

The entire church body including parents, families, teachers and church leaders are called to share in this journey, creating new paths for young people to experience the love of God and use their gifts, talents and youthful energy to build up Christ's church. We ask you to join us in praying for all young people and for God's blessing on the Year of Youth!

ANOINTING FOR HEALING MASS - TUESDAY 12TH DEC, 11.00 AM
Everyone, especially the sick and elderly are invited to attend our annual Anointing for Healing Mass on Tuesday 12th December at 11:00am. Following Mass, a light luncheon will be served in the hall. All welcome. If you are aware of anyone who wishes to be anointed but is too ill to attend this Mass, kindly ask them to contact the Parish Office and Father will visit them at home at a suitable time.

PIETY STORE
Come and see our Nativity Sets, ornaments, etc. All are very reasonably priced. Divine Mercy and Columban Calendars, Religious Christmas cards and Advent calendars are now available.

GIVING TREE - ST VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY
To help with our Christmas Hampers for people in need in our parish area, please take a tag from the tree at the front of the church and return your gift of food by 10th December. A Christmas card to a family is very welcome as many lonely people do not receive a card at Christmas. Please return the TAGS for RE-USE next year. Please DO NOT stick them to the package as this prevents us re-using them. Thank you for your generosity.

ROSTERS for Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers, Piety Store and Communion to the Sick are all available for collection from the church hall.  Please pick up your copy as soon as possible as they start from December.
