PARISH NEWS

WELCOME AND THANK YOU
Welcome back Fr. Vincent, hope you had a good break.  Our sincere thanks to Fr. Peter Carrucan, Fr. Noel Mackay, Fr. Pius Kodakkathanath and Fr. Eugene San for helping us in the past month. We thank Deacon Charles and all volunteers for their help to ensure all was well when our parish priest was away – be it during our liturgical celebrations, Communion services, opening/locking the church or making sure that our visiting priests were made welcome.  THANK YOU!

READERS AND COMMUNION MINISTERS – AVAILABILITY FORMS
Thank you to all the Readers and Communion Ministers who have completed the forms and returned them to the Office. There are still a few out in Hall and we would appreciate if these could be completed this week and returned to the office. Thank you.

CHURCH REFURBISHMENT
We are pleased to announce that the church refurbishment works are set to begin on Thursday February 15, 2018. Due to increasing construction costs we have had to postpone the refurbishment to the chapel.

During construction, all weekday masses will be held at the Community Centre and weekend masses in Church. As works relate to both the front entrances of the church, these will be closed and unavailable for use during the construction period.

There is asbestos removal to be undertaken on Saturday, February 17 on which day Morning Mass at 9:15am will be at the Community Centre and there will be NO 6:00PM EVENING MASS on Saturday, 17 February as a safety precaution for our parishioners. Masses on Sunday February 18 will be held as usual.

Entrance to the church will be through the rear of the church (basketball court) and the entrance near the school office which is currently not used. Further details on these will be provided next weekend. The Piety Store will be closed during construction which is expected to finish in the third week of May 2018. The above will cause inconveniences during the construction period but we do hope parishioners will understand and cooperate with us for this very important project of the Parish.

Parish Building Project Team

11TH FEBRUARY 2018 – 6TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
“Brothers and sisters, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31

Do a quick check of your priorities. Where does God rank in that list? If He’s not first, you have some work to do. Putting God first in everything helps us from putting other “gods” (like our pride and ego, money and possessions to name a few) before God. Before making a decision, ask yourself am I doing this for the glory of God or for the glory of me?
