3rd Sunday 5:00pm Youth Mass

BAPTISM FORMATION MEETING FOR SEPTEMBER
Kindly note that due to the Novena for the Nativity of Our Lady, the Baptism Preparation Meeting will be held in the Community Centre.on Monday, 2nd September at 7pm.

WELCOME TO OUR NEWLY BAPTISED
We welcome into our Church community Lilah Rose Taio Tivini and Harrison Montague who are to be baptised this Sunday. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of Parents, Godparents, family and friends, we pray that these children will lead lives full of happiness, faith and love.

MULTICULTURAL MASS
The next Multicultural Mass planning meeting will be held on Saturday, 31st August at 10:00am in the meeting room off the church hall. All are welcome to attend.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK
Volunteers needed to take Holy Communion to the sick and housebound on Wednesday or Thursday mornings. Please consider this important and rewarding Ministry. Further information please call Bev Jones 97492388

ROSTERS for Communion to the Sick, Piety Store, Lectors & Communion Ministers for Sept to Nov are now available for collection from the Hall.

MELBOURNE CATHOLIC LIVE MASS STREAMING
The 1pm Mass is streamed live daily (Mon - Fri) from St Patrick’s Cathedral and is then available as a recording on demand until one hour prior to the next 1pm mass. On Sundays- the 11am Mass is streamed and it is also available as a recording on demand, follow the link https://melbournecatholic.org.au/Mass

THANKSGIVING UPDATE 2019
Please note that the Finance Committee will be providing a Thanksgiving Update to the Parish at all masses during the weekend of 24/25 August 2019. We will provide an update on Thanksgiving collection and Expenses for FY2018 and a budget for FY2019, highlighting major capital expenditure undertaken. We will also be providing a Time & Talent Sheet for parishioners who are interested in joining any of our several parish ministries. Fr Vincent, The Parish Pastoral Committee and Parish Finance Committee would like to take this opportunity and thank each and every parishioner for contributing to the parish financially or through service and we look forward to your continued contribution and support to maintain and further grow our vibrant parish community.

BIBLE STUDY THIS WEEK 20 AUGUST  AT 7:00PM
Combined parishes of St. James & St. Peters Bible Study continues on Tuesday 20th August at 7:00pm in the Theatrette at St. Peters, Hoppers Crossing. The session will be conducted by Clive Gonsalves. Come and experience an interactive study of the Gospel of Mark (Ch 11) with teachings, videos, discussions, etc. All are welcome. Enquiries message 0426 071 375.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE
Please support our Sausage Sizzle which will be held after all Masses on the weekend of 24/25 August. Proceeds go towards activities in our Church. Volunteers to help with the Sausage Sizzle will be very welcome.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
RCIA is a program for anyone interested in becoming a Catholic and receiving the Sacraments. The meetings are held on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in the Theatrette at  the  Parish Office. If you or anyone you know is interested, you are welcome to come along. The invitation is also extended to any Catholics who may want to come and help Catechists by sharing their knowledge and faith and motivate the Candidates. All are invited to bring along their own statues/icons of the Blessed Virgin Mary to be placed on table near the Sanctuary, each day of the Novena

 

PERMANENT DIACONATE
For those who are interested in finding out more about becoming Permanent Deacons, there will be an enquiry meeting held on 31st August from 10-11:00am at the Catholic Theological College (CTC), 278 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne.
