HOLY HOUR OF PRAYER
The best and most important thing to obtain vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life is to pray, and so during the Season of Lent, our Archdiocese has established the Triduum of Prayer which will run for 23 hours from 20-22 March in parishes and religious communities around Melbourne. Our parish is joining in this Triduum of Prayer. St. Peter’s Charismatic Prayer Community (KNK) will hold a Holy Hour of Prayer from 2:30pm to 3:30pm on Saturday, 21st March. We invite all our parishioners to participate in this Holy Hour of Prayer to help vocations in our parish.

MOTHER’S DAY RAFFLE
Tickets to our Mother’s Day Raffle will be sold after all weekend Masses from next weekend.  Funds raised from the raffle will go towards various church activities. Thank you for your support.

IMPORTANT LENTEN INFORMATION
Ash Wednesday & Good Friday are days of Fasting and Abstinence from meat. All other Fridays, except solemnities, the law of the common practice of penance is fulfilled by any one of the following:

  1. Prayer eg – Mass attendance; family prayer; a visit to a church or chapel; reading the Bible; making Stations of the Cross; praying the Rosary, etc.
  2. Self Denial eg – not eating meat, sweets or dessert; giving up entertainment to spend time with family; limiting food and drink to give to the poor of one's own country or elsewhere, etc. Project Compassion is a major means of expressing self-denial in Australia.
  3. Helping Others eg – special attention to someone who is poor, sick, elderly, lonely or overburdened, etc.
