FR VINCENT IS AWAY FOR FOUR WEEKS
Fr Vincent will be on annual leave and overseas from 13th January to 13th February 2020. We wish Fr Vincent a safe trip, a blessed and enjoyable time with his congregation, family and friends. Please welcome Fr Greg Bourke and Fr Eugene San who will be assisting in Fr Vincent's absence.
LITURGY OF THE WORD & COMMUNION SERVICE WHILE FR. VINCENT IS AWAY
The following Communion Services will replace Mass:
8:30am – Monday, 13 January to Friday 17 January
9:15am – Saturday, 18 January
8:30am – Monday, January 20 to Friday January 24
9:15am – Saturday, 25 January
8:30am – Monday, 27 January to Friday 31 January
9:15am – Saturday, 1 February
7:00pm - Novena Mass will be held on Wednesday, 22nd and 29th January. Please note that there will no Novena Mass on 15th January. Also please note that there will be no Healing Mass in February. For more details, please check the doors for Mass/Communion Service times while Fr. Vincent is away until 13 February.
READERS AND COMMUNION MINISTERS
The next roster will include the Easter Ceremonies. An Availability Form to cover these dates is available in Hall. Please collect as soon as possible and leave your completed form in the Sacristy or return to the Parish Office by January 25th 2020.
The first Healing Mass for 2020 will be held on Saturday, 7th March 2020.
The first Baptism Formation Meeting for 2020 will be held on Monday, 3rd February 2020.

WELCOME TO OUR NEWLY BAPTISED
We welcome into our Church community Stephen Vessey who is to be baptised next weekend. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of Parents, Godparents, family and friends, we pray that Stephen will lead a life full of happiness, faith and love.
FEAST OF STO NINO
Sunday, 26th January 2020 at St. Peter’s. Procession starts at 11:30am followed by Eucharistic Celebration at 12 noon. All are invited to join us in this celebration. You are welcome to bring your icons with you to the procession.
FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF OUR LORD (also known as CANDLEMAS) - SUNDAY 2ND FEBRUARY
A special 'Blessing of Candles' will be given at the 6:00pm Mass on Saturday, 1st February, and 8:30am, 10:30am and 5:00pm Masses on Sunday, 2nd February. Everyone is invited to bring their own candles and place them on the table near the Sanctuary before the start of Mass. These blessed candles serve as a symbol of Jesus Christ, who referred to Himself as the Light of the World.
PLENARY COUNCIL – CALL FOR DELEGATES
The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference has requested that each Diocese nominate four people, who may be laypersons, members of religious orders or Clergy, who are willing to be called as delegates for the Plenary Council Sessions in October 2020 and June and July 2021. Each delegate will participate in the process of discernment and contribute to a variety of forums before, during and after the Plenary Council Sessions. This is an important and critical role for the life of the Catholic Church in Australia. SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR BUSHFIRE CRISIS (ST. VINCENT DE PAUL BUSHFIRE APPEAL)
To support the victims of the recent bushfire disasters all around Australia, the Archbishop has encouraged all parishes to have a special collection which will be directed to the 'St. Vincent de Paul Bushfire Appeal' to enable our unfortunate brothers and sisters to rebuild their lives after such terrible devastation. The collection will be taken on the weekend of 25/26 January 2020. Your generous contribution towards this cause is greatly appreciated. STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION FOR January 12, 2020 - Baptism of the Lord
And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)
Two thoughts come to mind when reading this. First, God, Our Father, is so generous, that he gave his only son, whom he really loves, to us so that we can have eternal life with him in heaven. God, Our Creator, really loves us, too! Second, Jesus was obedient to his Father’s will, even to the point of death. This is a reminder that our own lives are pure gifts from God and meant to serve God and others.
BIBLE STUDY commences Monday 3 Feb 2020
Combined Parishes of St. James and St. Peter's will commence on Monday 3rd February at 7 pm in the Theatrette at St. Peter's Hoppers Crossing conducted by Clive Gonsalves and Francis Thomas. Come and experience an interactive study of the Gospel of John with teachings, explanations, reflections and sharings with audio visuals.
