GOOD SHEPHERD SUNDAY, MAY 12TH World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Pope Francis – Message for 2019 World Day of Vocations
‘The Lord’s call is not an intrusion of God in our freedom; it is not a ‘cage’ or a burden to be borne. On the contrary, it is the loving initiative whereby God encounters us and invites us to be part of a great undertaking. So we must love her (the Church), even when we see her face marred by human frailty and sin, and we must help to make her ever more beautiful and radiant, so that she can bear witness to God’s love in the world.

SCHOOL FIRST HOLY COMMUNION MASS DATES
Parishioners, please note the following dates that children from St. Peter's school will receive their First Holy Communion. Please be aware that parking may be an issue at these Masses. We ask that you keep these children in your prayers as they prepare to receive our Lord for the first time.

Saturday, 18th May – 6:00pm
Sunday, 19th May – 10:30am
Saturday 25th May – 6:00pm
Sunday 26th May – 10:30am

A reminder to all that next Sunday, 12 May, is MOTHER’S DAY. There will be a blessing for Mothers at all Masses next weekend.

TWEET FROM POPE FRANCIS
If we open our hearts to mercy and we seal forgiveness with a fraternal embrace, we proclaim before the world that it is possible to overcome evil with good.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER
MAY 5, 2019 – 3RD SUNDAY OF EASTER
“Peter was distressed that Jesus had said to him a third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and he said to him, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.’” (John 21:17)

All of us are challenged to show our love for Jesus and others. Discern how God is calling you to use your time in prayer, your talent in charitable works and your treasure to assist those who are in need. Remember that giving is an act of worship and helps advance the mission of our parish and greater Church.
