BLESSING OF NEW PARISH FOYER BY BISHOP MARK EDWARDS
We are pleased to announce that Bishop Mark Edwards will bless our new Parish Foyer on Sunday 9th December at 10:20am, prior to the start of the 10:30am Mass. To help celebrate and welcome Bishop Mark, could you all please bring a plate of savoury/sweet finger food to be shared at the fellowship after Mass. Thank you.
THE SACRAMENTAL AND RELIGIOUS EDUCATION SUNDAY SCHOOL is now in recess for the upcoming Christmas Break. We resume on 3rd February 2019. If you have Children or Grandchildren attending State Schools and wish them to be prepared for the Sacraments, come and enrol them on the 3rd February. PIETY STORE
Advent Calendars for the children, Divine Mercy Pocket and Wall Calendars, Columban wall Calendars as well as Christmas Cards ($3 for a pack of 8), ornaments, Nativity sets and scenes, etc. are available.
WELCOME TO OUR NEWLY BAPTISED
We welcome into our Church community Rosette Lolo who is to be baptised this Sunday. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of Parents, Godparents, family and friends, we pray that this child will lead a life full of happiness, faith and love.
MORNING PRAYER BOOKS
There are many "Morning Prayer" Books missing from the box on the table near the door into the Church. These books are for the use of those who join in the Morning Prayer before Mass and are returned each day after the "Prayer" concludes. If you have accidently taken one home we would appreciate its return so more people can join in this devotion.
ROSTERS FOR PIETY STORE, COMMUNION TO THE SICK, LECTORS & EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION are available for collection from the hall. Please collect your copy this weekend.
ALTAR SERVERS AVAILABILITY FORMS FOR CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR are kept in the Sacristy. Please fill in your form and return it to the Sacristy as soon as possible. Thank you.
GIVING TREE
To enable us to make up hampers to take to families in need this Christmas, please take a tag from the Tree and return the item/s to the baskets under the Tree by December 9th. A Christmas card with your gift of food lets a family know that you are thinking of them at this joyous Season. Please return tags with your food donation. DAWN MASS NOVENA, 16-24 DECEMBER 18
This will be the 23rd year our parish will celebrate the Dawn Mass Novena in preparation for Christmas. The Novena Mass is held at 5:00am every morning for nine consecutive days, starting on the 16th and concluding on the 24th December. Our parish prayer group organises this by coordinating with our parishioners, other groups in our parish, prayer group benefactors and others from neighbouring parishes who attend the dawn Mass every year. Their generosity provides a festive breakfast for everyone who attends the dawn Mass. If any of you would like to be a part of this breakfast by either providing food or wish to donate towards it please contact the parish office on 9749 4300 or email hopperscrossing@cam.org.au. MELBOURNE OVERSEAS MISSION
There will be a third collection after all masses next weekend, 8th December, for the Melbourne Overseas Mission. The money received goes to assist some of the world’s most remote and underdeveloped communities.
CONGRATULATIONS to our parishioner and Deputy Principal Adele Vesty, who will be leaving St. Peter’s Primary School to be the new Principal at Christ the Priest Primary School in Caroline Springs. We wish Adele all the very best and God’s blessings in her new appointment.
