Fr. Vincent John CMI, Parish Priest

Infant and Child Baptisms

Meetings are held from February to December on the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the Church. This is a preparation session for parents and godparents explaining the meaning of the symbols used in the liturgy and theology of baptism. Completion of the Preparation Meeting is compulsory, otherwise the Baptism will need to be rescheduled.

Marriages

Marriages can be booked by contacting the parish office. A meeting with the parish priest is mandatory and couples may be asked to participate in pre-nuptial information sessions.

Marriage paperwork for overseas weddings

If you intend being married overseas, please contact parish office to find out details of paperwork and to make an appointment to meet with Fr Vincent six months prior to the wedding.  Requirement for overseas wedding is that all paperwork must be completed, signed by the Parish Priest and sent to the Vicar General’s Office for necessary action and ensure that all paperwork is sent to the diocese where the marriage is to take place.  The overseas diocese will also sign the paperwork and will then forward it to the celebrant.

Funerals

Funerals are conducted by the parish clergy in the parish church or at a funeral home. The priest is happy to meet and talk with people at any time before and after a funeral. If people seek Grief Counselling, the priest is able to refer to appropriate agencies.

Sunday Children's Liturgy Program

Families are invited to participate in the Sunday Children's Liturgy program. This program is run on the first and third Sunday of each month during the 10:30am Mass. Children are invited to join a teacher for the Liturgy of the Word in the small room off the church. During this time the gospel is shared and the children complete a simple activity. They then return to their families as the Offertory is being taken up. We look forward to sharing God's Word with your children.

Fatima Madonna Statues
White Jewelled Madonna Statue
White Jeweled Madonna Statue

A few years ago, the community of the Knights of the Southern Cross decided to promote prayer life and the recitation of the Holy Rosary within the family at home by providing parishioners the opportunity to borrow small Fatima statues of the Virgin Mother Mary on a weekly  basis.

This has become so popular, that there are now 3 Madonna statues in circulation in our parish, with the service also expanding to St James in Hoppers Crossing North and to St Andrews in Werribee. If you are interested in participating, please ring the parish office to have your name placed on the prayer roster.
