FR. VINCENT JOHN CMI
We warmly welcome into our St Peter's community Fr Vincent John who will be our parish priest from the 11th October 2017 onwards. We look forward to our faith journey with him as our shepherd.

Our heartfelt thanks to our dear Fr Pius for the wonderful shepherd that he was to us these past seven years and we wish him many blessings as he continues his ministry in Corio/Lara.
ROSARY DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
To commemorate the Feast of Our Lady of The Rosary, during the month of October, the Rosary will be recited daily in the Church at the following times:
Monday to Friday - after Morning Mass and at 6:30pm
Saturday - 8:40am prior to the 9:15am Mass
Sunday - 8:10am, prior to the 8.30am Mass

BIBLE STUDY
Bible Study continues in the Community Centre at 7:00pm on Monday Oct. 9. We are at Luke Ch 19 v 11. Please come for an in interative study of the bible. All are welcome. Enquiries Royden 0426 071 375.
HSI SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP resumes on Sunday October 15 at 6:15pm in the Community Centre.
VENERATION OF THE STATUE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA - FRIDAY 13TH OCTOBER
To mark the 100th Anniversary of the 6th Fatima Apparition, the Statue of Our Lady will be available for veneration all day in the Church side Chapel from 8:00am until 7:30pm. Kindly note that the Rosary will be recited after the 8:30am Mass and again in the evening at 6:30pm. It was at this final Apparition that the Miracle of the Sun witnessed by 70,000 people, occurred. Pope Francis has offered a Plenary Indulgence for those who venerate the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima in a public place on that day, subject to the usual conditions (see notice board in hall). All Welcome.
50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Congratulations to Jan & Bogumila Balchan on their fiftieth wedding anniversary. May God continue to shower his blessings on you and your family for many more years to come.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE
There will be a fundraising Sausage Sizzle after all Masses next weekend. Margaret will be more than happy to accept any help. Thank you for your support.
STEWARDHIP CORNER - 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
The stone the builders rejected has become the corner stone - MATTHEW 21:42
Jesus was the corner stone and He was rejected by the religious and political leaders of his day, as well as ordinary citizens. Living a stewardship lifestyle may cause you to be "rejected" by others in today's society. For example, saying grace before a meal in a restaurant may attract some strange looks from some. But to others it is sign that God is alive and well!
MULTICULTURAL MASS REHEARSAL
Please note that the rehearsal for the Multicultural Mass will be held on Friday, 27 October 2017 at 7:15 pm in the church. All participating in the Liturgy are requested to attend. Kindly make note that this year the rehearsal is not on Saturday.

ARCHDIOCESAN OFFICE FOR YOUTH WORKSHOP
The Year of Youth is an invitation for the whole church in Australia to celebrate young people and create new opportunities to meet the young heart of the Church. This workshop day for parish priests, pastoral associates and parish leaders will explore how your parish can use the Year of Youth to 'open new horizons for spreading joy'. MARCH FOR THE BABIES
On October 10, 2008, the Victorian Parliament passed the Abortion Law Reform Act, one of the most extreme abortion laws in the world. This law eliminated all legal protection for Victorian children until the moment of birth. On Saturday October 7 at 1:00pm, defenders of the unborn will march from Treasury Gardens to Parliament House to express our solidarity with the unborn and their mothers.
