COMBINED PARISH RITE II RECONCILIATION, THURSDAY 21ST DECEMBER AT 7:00PM, ST. JAMES' PARISH
Please join us at St. James' Parish for our Combined Rite II Reconciliation on Thursday 21st December at 7:00pm. This is a great way to prepare ourselves to welcome Jesus our Saviour into our hearts this Christmas. All welcome.
NOTE FOR READERS
From the first weekend in January - 5th/6th Jan 2018 - there are changes to the Welcome before Mass. Readers are requested to collect from the hall, as soon as possible, copies of the letters advising of these changes.
BAPTISM FORMATION AND HEALING MASS 2018
Please note that there will be NO Healing Mass or Baptism Formation Meeting in January. The next Baptism Formation meeting will be on Monday the 5th February. Healing Mass will commence each month from the First Saturday 3rd Feb 2018.
PARISH CALENDARS
Parish Calendars will be distributed at all masses this weekend and next weekend. Please take one per family.
CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
Thank you very much for your generous donations of food and cards for our Giving Tree. With your help we will be able to give the joy of receiving a hamper to about 100 families in our area. We wish you all a very Happy and Holy Christmas.
CONGRATULATIONS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS
We congratulate our Year 6 students who have graduated this year and wish them every blessing as they venture into High School. May the light of Christ guide and protect them always. We wish all the students, parents, principal, teachers and staff A Merry Christmas, Blessed New Year and Happy Holidays!
SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Sunday School Programme is looking for a dedicated person, to work with our team next year, to help educate the children from Government Schools, who choose to come to Sunday School to prepare for and receive the Sacraments and to extend the children's knowledge and Love of God. For more info, please contact Bernice on 9749-2812.
FEAST OF THE HOLY INNOCENTS, MARTYRS - THURSDAY 28TH DECEMBER
The Church celebrates the memory of the young children of Bethlehem who were put to death by Herod, who sought to kill Jesus. These innocent victims bear witness to Christ in a world which would not receive Him. All parents are invited to bring their children and babies to the 8:30am Mass on this Feast day for a special blessing.
PIETY STORE
Come and see our Nativity Sets, ornaments, etc. All are very reasonably priced. Divine Mercy and Columban Calendars, Religious Christmas cards and Advent calendars are now available.
CHANGES TO DEVOTIONAL PRAYERS DURING WEEKEND MASSES FROM JANURAY 2018
We wish to advise that starting Jan 2018:
- The Devotional Prayer will no longer be recited before the start of Mass. Devotional Prayers will still be printed in the bulletin each week and parishioners are encouraged to use them for private prayer and contemplation.
- The Parish Prayer will now be recited before the Entrance Procession.
These small changes have been made in order to streamline the Mass. We thank you for your understanding.
COMMUNION SERVICE - TUESDAY 26TH DECEMBER, 8:30AM
Parishioners, please note that Liturgy of the Word and Communion Service will replace the 8:30am Mass on Tuesday, 26th December as Fr. Vincent will be away on this day.
PARISH OFFICE CLOSURE
The parish office will be closed from Friday 22nd December and will open on Monday 15th January 2018. Bulletins for 7th and 14th January will be single sheets with mass readings. Normal bulletins will resume from 21st January, along with names for Death Anniversaries, Recently Deceased and Sick List.
WELCOME
We welcome into our Church community Isaiah Joseph Hankins who is to be baptised this Sunday. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of his Parents, Godparents, Family & Friends, we pray this child will lead a life full of faith, happiness and love for all.
May the Lord give his angels charge over you, to guide you in all your ways.
