COMBINED PARISH RITE II RECONCILIATION – THURSDAY 19TH DECEMBER AT 7:00PM
Please join us at St. James' Parish, Derrimut Rd, Hoppers Crossing, for our Combined Rite II Reconciliation on Thursday 19th December at 7:00pm. This is a great way to prepare ourselves to welcome Jesus our Saviour into our hearts this Christmas. All welcome.

We welcome into our Church community Aveline Pannetier and Hayley Forrest who are to be baptised this Sunday. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love of Parents, Godparents, family and friends, we pray that these children will lead lives full of happiness, faith and love.

GIVING TREE – ST VINCENT DE PAUL
To enable us to make up hampers to brighten Christmas for struggling families in our area, please take a tag from the Tree and return the item/s to the baskets under the Tree by December 8th. A Christmas card with your gift of food lets a family know that you are thinking of them in this joyous season. Last year with your help we were able to help 110 families. Enquiries 9749 2388.

Rosters for the Piety Store are available in the hall for those who do not have computer access. All others have had the roster emailed to them.

SENIORS CHRISTMAS LUNCH
14 DECEMBER 2019 12:00pm – 3:00 pm
We recognise the important part our Seniors play in our Parish Community. While we encourage the generations to come together we also provide a place where the seniors of our parish community are honoured, supported and valued. To honour the Seniors of our parish, the Young Adults Ministry and Friends would like to invite all the Seniors of our parish above 60 years, to a Christmas Lunch on Saturday 14th December from 12:00 to 3:00pm, to be held in the Church Hall. Tickets at $10 per person will be sold at all weekend masses on 30 November/1 December & 7/8 December. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
MELBOURNE OVERSEAS MISSION
There will be a special collection at all Masses on the weekend of 7/8 December for the Melbourne Overseas Mission. We thank you for your generosity.
VOCATION NEWS – 1ST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
"Stay Awake". Jesus urges us to be ready. Today let us pray for the young people in our parish community, that they may be ready and alert to hear the Lord calling them to the faithful vocations of marriage, priesthood, consecrated or single life.

Pauline Books & Media will have Catholic children’s books, spiritual reading, saints, devotional books, scripture, etc. available for purchase in the Church Hall at the 6:00pm, 8.30am and 10.30am Masses on 7/8 December. A great gift idea and an opportunity to nurture your family’s faith this Christmas!
ST. PETER’S CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP (KNK) Prayer Meetings will resume in the first week of Feb 2020.
DAWN MASS NOVENA, 16-24 DECEMBER 2019
This will be the 24th year our parish will celebrate the Dawn Mass Novena in preparation for Christmas. The Novena Mass is held at 5:00am every morning for nine consecutive days, starting on the 16th and concluding on the 24th December. Our parish prayer group organises this by coordinating with our parishioners, other groups in our parish, prayer group benefactors and others from neighbouring parishes who attend the Dawn Mass every year. Their generosity provides a festive breakfast for everyone who attends the dawn Mass. If any of you would like to be a part of this breakfast by either providing food or wish to donate towards it please contact the parish office on 9749 4300 or email hopperscrossing@cam.org.au. Please note that there will be NO Healing Mass or Baptism Formation Meeting in January. The Healing Mass and Baptism Formation meeting will resume in February 2020.
LOURDES DAY MASS
Saturday 7 December, 10:30am, St Patrick’s Cathedral
A blessing of the sick will follow the celebration of the Liturgy with water brought from the spring at the Shrine of Lourdes. This is an occasion to come together in prayer with those who are sick, infirm or elderly and their carers. Each Mass participant will receive a gift pack containing a small bottle of Lourdes water (sourced from the Grotto), rosary beads and prayer materials. Individual blessings are available after Mass.
