PARISH NEWS

SPECIAL HEALING MASS
There will be a special Healing Mass in our church on Thursday, 27 September at 7:00pm by Rev. Fr. Augustine Vallooran, VC from Divine Australia. Fr. Augustine is the Director of the Divine Retreat Centre at Potta in India. Praise and Worship by Glen and Teresa La’Rive. All are invited to attend this special Healing Mass.

PARISH REFURBISHMENT
As advised earlier, we are very close to agreeing to a refurbishment of the car park to be undertaken during the school holidays (September 22 to October 7). Given the limited time available and to expeditiously complete the work within the school holidays, the entire car park will be closed to the public from Saturday 22nd September to October 7th 2018. Hence, parking will not be available in the car park for those days. The end date is subject to weather conditions permitting smooth work. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience but once work is completed, we will get a refurbished car park with additional car spaces and pedestrian markings, to make safer movement of students to the school and parishioners to the church. Thank you for your patience. Further details will be provided at weekend masses.

THANK YOU FROM CARITAS AUSTRALIA FOR PROJECT COMPASSION 2018 CAMPAIGN
Dear people of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, I wish to think you very sincerely for your wonderful and generous response to the Caritas Australia Project Compassion 2018 appeal ‘For a Just Future’. The Catholic community of Melbourne donated $1,514,019 to the appeal – a major contribution to supporting the poorest of the poor in the over 25 countries where Caritas Australia supports programs. Across Australia the appeal raised around $10.8 million, money that will make a real difference in lifting people out of poverty, and giving many the opportunity to build secure lives, free from poverty and hunger. Since the end of the Project Compassion 2018 campaign Caritas Australia has continued, with your generous help, to provide assistance to those areas hit by disasters like the flooding in Kerala, India, and Typhoon Manghkut in the Philippines, as well as ongoing development work. Again, thanks for your help in enabling Caritas Australia to be the gospel in action.
