STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION FOR 25TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
“No servant can serve two masters. He will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (wealth).” (Luke 16:13)
Is money a “god” that you put before God? Giving money to support the Church and other charities is a pillar of our faith, just like attending Mass every Sunday and participating in parish ministry. Giving money frees us from being a slave to money. It increases our dependence on God and our trust that God will provide all that we need.

TWEET FROM POPE FRANCIS
St. Paul asks us to pray “for all in authority”, (1 Tim 2:2). We must learn to do this, even for politicians with whom we disagree. Christians must pray for all people in government that they may work for the common good.

THE EXTRAORDINARY MISSIONARY MONTH - OCTOBER 2019
In 2019, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Pope Benedict XV's Apostolic Letter Maximum Illud, Pope Francis announced that October will be an Extraordinary Missionary Month. The Holy Father has chosen the theme ‘Baptized and Sent: The Church of Christ on a Mission in the World’. In response to this invitation, the Extraordinary Missionary Month is an opportunity for reflection, prayer and support for the missionary efforts of individuals, communities and the whole Church. Your participation and involvement is welcome and together with people around the world at this time, will be a sign of doing something extraordinary for mission. Several events organised for the month of October are listed below. All details can be found on the flyer displayed in the hall.
