ST. PETER APOSTLE PARISH FEAST – SUNDAY 25TH JUNE, 10:30AM
All Parishioners are invited to attend this special event and are kindly requested to bring a plate of savoury or sweet finger food to be shared after Mass.
A reminder for all Parish Group Leaders to please arrange for their banners to be processed into Church. Banner bearers are to assemble in the hall by 10:15am ready to process in for the start of Mass.
ST. PETERS CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP
Saturday, 8th July our parish prayer group will celebrate its 22nd Anniversary with a Thanksgiving Mass and fellowship. Please join in to celebrate this occasion with Praise & Worship at 11.30am followed by Mass and a light lunch in the hall thereafter. All are invited.
STEWARDSHIP RENEWAL
INSTRUCTIONS ON WHERE TO FIND YOUR ENVELOPES / STEWARDSHIP LETTERS
- For weekly givers – your envelopes are in boxes in Surname Alphabetical order – so check the trays with boxes.
- If you give monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly – your envelopes are in an envelope and not in boxes. Look for the tray with Monthly/Half Yearly/Yearly markers.
- If you give by Direct Deposit or by Credit Card – your letter and form is also in an envelope, so look for the tray with Direct Debit/Credit Card markers
- If your envelope boxes or envelopes are not in any of the above trays, please note your name, surname and address in the notebook kept on the table. If you know your envelope number, please note that too and Josephine will contact you with further information by the 10th of July.
- If you have not been a part of Stewardship in the past but would like to participate now: please fill in a Stewardship Pledge Card and give it to Fr. Pius or drop it in the Mass Offering box in the church below the Oil display or drop it in the collection during weekend Mass. Josephine will then organise envelopes / direct debit / credit card giving as per your request.
REGISTRATION OF PARISHIONERS
If you are not already a parishioner and would like to be registered as one at St. Peters, please complete a registration card available from the foyer and as above, drop it in the collection bags during Mass or in the Mass offering slot near the sacristy or at the parish office, or give it to Fr. Pius or Dcn. Charles after Mass. Please remember that being baptised in this parish or attending Mass regularly does not automatically make a person a parishioner. The person needs to be registered on the parish census program.
HSI SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP
There will be a brief announcement at all masses this weekend about the new HSI Discipleship School starting in our parish on July 23, 2017. Members will be available after mass to answer any queries.
EUTHANASIA AND ASSISTED DYING
As some of you may be aware legislation is soon going to be put forth in the Victorian Parliament on the above topic. Melbourne Archdiocese has published a brief booklet containing information of the church’s view on this to better inform parishioners. A copy of the Booklet is available in the foyer. Please take one and read through it and pass it on to other interested parishioners. A signature drive will be undertaken in the last week of June with a proposed delegation to our local MP. Your support will be much appreciated. Further details will be provided in the coming weeks. If you would like more information or would like to assist, please call Royden on 0426071375.
PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION
There will be a Special Collection next weekend June 24/25th for Peter’s Pence – annual collection for the Holy Father.

MELBOURNE ORDINATIONS
On Saturday June 24 at St Patrick’s Cathedral at 10am, the Archbishop will ordain Deacons Trevor Tibbertsma and Marcus Goulding to the priesthood. Also ordained will be Tho Tran as a Deacon preparing for priesthood. Hubert Fernando will be ordained as a permanent Deacon on this day as well.
This is a time of great joy for the Church of Melbourne as we see the Lord blessing our local Church with the gift of Holy Orders.
All are welcome to the Ordination Mass at the cathedral. Please pray for these men, and for many more vocations from our local community. God continues to call young people to serve – our prayers help them to respond. Pray daily for vocations.
