VENERATION OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA STATUE – 2ND APPARITION TUESDAY 13TH JUNE
To celebrate the 2ND Apparition at Fatima, the Statue of Our Lady will be available for veneration on Tuesday 13TH June between 8:00am and 9:30am in the Side Chapel of the Church and again in the evening between 7:00pm and 7:30pm in the Community Centre. All welcome.
MULTICULTURAL MASS
Please note that the first Multicultural Mass Planning Meeting for this year will be held on Saturday, 17 June 2017 at 10:15am in the meeting room off the church hall. All are invited to attend to help support the Eritrean community make the celebration a joyous one.
FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI – SUNDAY 18TH JUNE, 10:30AM
To celebrate this Feast, a procession of the Monstrance will take place around the school oval starting at 10:30am in the Church. Mass will follow.
ST. PETER APOSTLE PARISH FEAST – SUNDAY 25TH JUNE, 10:30AM
All Parishioners are invited to attend this special event and are kindly requested to bring a plate of savoury or sweet finger food to be shared after Mass.
A reminder for all Parish Group Leaders to please arrange for their banners to be processed into Church. Banner bearers are to assemble in the hall by 10:15am ready to process in for the start of Mass.
STEWARDSHIP RENEWAL
Stewardship renewal will take place at the end of June. New envelopes will be available for collection on the 17/18th June. If you would like to join our Stewardship program, please take a registration card from the foyer or near the sacristy where the oils are displayed, complete the Stewardship side of the card and drop it into the collection bags during Mass or in the Mass offering slot near the sacristy. You can also drop it off at the parish office or give it to Fr. Pius or Dcn. Charles after Mass.
REGISTRATION OF PARISHIONERS
If you are not already a parishioner and would like to be registered as one at St. Peters, please complete a registration card available from the foyer and as above, drop it in the collection bags during Mass or in the Mass offering slot near the sacristy or at the parish office, or give it to Fr. Pius or Dcn. Charles after Mass. Please remember that being baptised in this parish or attending Mass regularly does not automatically make a person a parishioner. The person needs to be registered on the parish census program.
ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY – VINNIES WINTER APPEAL
This weekend there will be a Third Collection after Communion at all Masses as part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Winter Appeal to provide direct assistance to those individuals and families in need in Hoppers Crossing. Active Members of the Hoppers Crossing Conference make hundreds of visits to homes and distribute thousands of dollars in Coles Gift Cards, for food and other Supermarket supplies; as well as tens of thousands of dollars in clothing and furniture. The motto of the Society is: No work of charity is foreign to the Society. We help in whatever ways we are able. Thank you for your generosity.
HSI SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP
There will be a brief announcement at all masses next weekend about the new HSI Discipleship School starting in our parish on July 23, 2017. Members will be available after mass to answer any queries.
EUTHANASIA AND ASSISTED DYING
As some of you may be aware legislation is soon going to be put forth in the Victorian Parliament on the above topic. Melbourne Archdiocese has published a brief booklet containing information of the church’s view on this to better inform parishioners. A copy of the Booklet is available in the foyer. Please take one and read through it and pass it on to other interested parishioners. A signature drive will be undertaken in the last week of June with a proposed delegation to our local MP. Your support will be much appreciated. Further details will be provided in the coming weeks. If you would like more information or would like to assist, please call Royden on 0426071375.
