CHILD SAFE STANDARDS
We are in the process of implementing the upcoming Child Safe Standards required by the Victorian Government to be in place by 1 January 2017. In the coming months we will be working with our parish groups and leadership teams to build on the child safety measures we already have in place in our community, to understand that the emphasis of these new legislative requirements is to effect further cultural change, helping with change in attitudes towards, and increase the awareness of, societys obligations to the safety of our children. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children when they bring them to church. In this context we wish to remind parents of young children to ensure that they are accompanied by one of the parents or adult siblings when they use the toilets in the Church Hall. If you have any concerns please report them to Fr. Pius or Dcn. Charles. Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe.
RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY will be celebrated in the archdiocese next Sunday October 9. On this day, we pray especially for all whose lives are threatened by abortion or assisted suicide. A blessing will be given to all pregnant mothers on this weekend.
